SUBSCRIBING TO THE LIST SERVER:

CCFFR has an E-MAIL list-server subscription. To have your name added to the list go to:

http://mail.phys.ocean.dal.ca/mailman/listinfo/ccffr

and fill out the form under "Subscribing to ccffr".

TO UNSUBSRCIBE OR CHANGE YOUR ADDRESS goto to the listinfo URL above and Unsubscribe or Edit your subscription to a new address or name etc.

non-institutional email addresses will be rejected.

POSTING A MESSAGE TO THE LIST SERVER

If you wish to post an announcement (jobs, conferences etc.) to be sent to all CCFFR subscribers, then send your text message by email to:

ccffr@Phys.Ocean.Dal.Ca


PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTING:

  • 1. You must be a Subscribed Member (see above and below).

  • 2. Put your posting topic/subject in the SUBJECT-line of your email posting.

  • 3. Do not "ask" in the email, or subject-line, to for example: "please post this" (you are communicating with a machine) - it will look silly when people on the list receive it.

  • 4. Your message WILL NOT be posted if it contains attachments.

  • 5. Your message WILL NOT be posted if it contains greetings/requests/instructions to the mailman (see 3 above).

  • 6. Your message WILL NOT be posted if it does not contain an informative subject line (see 2 above).

  • 7. Your message must be in ASCII character text format (e.g. "txt" format) NOT "html" format (i.e. check you mailer settings).

    ***NOTE*** if your posting "goes into the ether" it may be because your email address in the subscription list is not the same as the address you are now using to post the message. Also, a local alias address will not work if the alias is not in the subscription list. To remedy, unsubscribe your old/alias address and resubscribe your new/real address.
