A two-dimensional k-ε turbulence and total sediment load numerical model are developed with the boundary-fitted coordinates ( Chen and Tang, 1998, and Tang, 1999 ). The states of sediment transport are distinguished into three types: (1) sole deposition; (2) sole erosion; and (3) deposition of the rough and erosion of the fine. The different formulas of carry capacity of non-uniform suspended load transport are established at the same time. The finite-volume method and SIMPLEC-algorithms are adopted, and it improves the convergence and stability of computation. The model can solve problems of flow and sediment in long river reach with complicated boundaries. Layers of the bed load are considered. Suspended load is distinguished into bed material load and wash load. The model is verified with the data of Fengcheng to Xiaogangkou river reach and has been used to calculate the schemes of the waterway regulation from Zhangshu to Nanchang in Ganjiang River. The results can be used as a basis of making decision in planning and designing of waterway.
