HUM-2 means Hohai University Model 2 ( Tang and
Chen, 1997 ). It is a long
term simulation model of runoff and sediment yield which is suitable for
the middle and large basins.
According to the complex geographic conditions
and the runoff and sediment processes, a physical conceptual model of
runoff and sediment for long term and middle and large basins is
established after mechanic analysis and mathematical deduction. The model
parameters are calibrated with measurement data. It has been used to
simulate the long-term flow and sediment processes in Dalihe Basin with
large scale in Yellow River Basin, China. It is also applied to calculate
the benefits of water and sediment reduction and to analyze the reasons of
the flow and sediment change in this basin ( Tang and Chen, 1998, 1999 ).
