Matlab

Matlab is a powerful, matrix oriented program, especially useful for data analysis, but able to do pretty much anything. Although it is based on a slower language than Fortran, it allows you to code, run scripts and functions, debug, do your analysis and visualize your results all in the same program. This makes it an ideal tool, especially for those new to coding.
